Arcana public beta

A trading card game where the rules change every two rounds — for both of you.

Twenty cards, thirty health, ten mana. Above them, a tarot spread that rewrites what everything costs and ends the match whether you are ready or not.

Free, in the browser. No download. Currently in public beta — the game is still changing under you.

The world

Sixty-six illustrations, and the things behind them

Every creature here is a card you can open, painted for this game and nothing else. Half a minute of it, if you want it — the rest of this page will still be here.

The headline

The match has a clock, and the clock is a tarot deck

Six arcana are drawn per match — two early, two in the middle, two to end it. Each holds for two rounds and applies to both players at once. Drag through eleven rounds and watch the same board re-price itself underneath.

The Spread

Every two rounds the arcana turns, and the rules turn with it — for both players.

The rules

  • Wardthe first damage this unit would take is prevented.
  • Lifestealcombat damage dealt by this unit heals your hero.

The collection

Sixty cards, five rarities, and a pity counter that tells the truth

Packs are bought with coins you earn by playing. The counter to a guaranteed legendary is the real one, shown to you, counting down.

The campaign

Five readings, and something waiting at the end of each

Chapters with their own decks, their own arcana and their own hero health. Beat them for coins, packs — and for the last thing on this page.

And the rest

22 positions. 10 have ever been dealt.

A major arcana holds twenty-two cards. The game draws from ten. Nobody has counted the difference out loud until now — and one of the empty positions has started to turn.

12 positions have never been filled. One of them is moving. Clearing the campaign is how you find out which.

The spread is dealt either way.

Twenty cards, a starting collection, and a coach who will walk you through your first match.
